| Foothill loop. My shoes are definitely to blame for my knees. I've run in Hurricanes for years and always try to find the cheap ones. My last pair were Hurricane 7 and they really hurt my knees. I've had probably 15 other pairs of Hurricanes and no problems before. Anyone else had this issue? |

Well I made it again and in PR time. THe wind was pretty bad after about 15 and I feel like in ideal conditions my time would have been 2-3 minutes faster. All in all I'm quite satisfied ... I'll write more later when I get home from work and pull my splits off my watch. Here are my splits: 1- 6:26 2- 6:06 3- 5:59 4- 5:54 5- 6:06 6- 6:03 7- 6:06 8- 6:08 9- 6:03 10- 6:08 11- 6:12 12- 6:02 13- 6:06 14- 6:03 15- 6:13 16-18 19:01 (6:20 pace but I didn't hit my watch) 19- 6:25 20- 6:45 21- 7:01 22- 6:27 23- 6:40 24- 6:31 25- 6:51 finish- 2:45:52 My pace slowed considerably when I hit the hills at mile 16 as expected. The wind really picked up at around the same time and the combination really did a number on my mental state. Even so I didn't really explode until the 7:01 at mile 21 when things really went south a little bit. My training in the last month has not been consistent enough to support that kind of pace for the whole thing and it seems like 20 miles was about the limit for the effort. None the less I was happy that I lasted that long and managed to limp it home for a PR. Interestingly I recovered really fast after the finish and was jogging to try to cool down a bit in only about 10 minutes. I'll take that as a good sign and set my sights on the next race. More consistent preparation should help the last few miles and hopefully I can push down into the low 2:40s! | |

I think it was our fault that they went out a bit too conservatively and then ran out of room to catch up. NCS is a few weeks away and we will have all the kinks worked out ... I think if they put everything together over the next 2 weeks they could make states. |
