Welcome to the blog! Wow, I can not believe your pole-vaulting picture. Amazing!

Welcome to the blog! Not a bad mix of pole vault and marathon results, those two events are hard to combine.

From Paul Petersen on Sat, Oct 20, 2007 at 11:42:26

Maybe they should be combined, some sort of biathlon. Run a half marathon, pole vault, run another half marathon, pole vault.

From Jeff Banks on Sat, Oct 20, 2007 at 16:05:53

Yes Yes Yes ... A great idea but something tells me my pole vault friends will not be very keen on that!! The trick is to separate your PR performances by a few years.

2:15 on the bike ... call it 50 miles. Rode the hill from the Sandia casino to La Luz trailhead twice. Plenty of climbing to keep the heart rate high. Gotta hate the wind though.

Out with Cara for 3 miles and then ran pace for 4 after that (50 minutes total). Knee felt a little sore on the way up but once I stretched out my stride it felt awesome.

Up through the construction site and then on up through the negiborhood.

Through the construction site and then the four hills neighborhood with Shawn. Been icing and using vitamin I to help my knee get better and it seems to be paying off finally. Still hurts a bit on the uphills but nothing at all on the flat or down parts.

Through 4 hills ... knee didn't bother me for about 3 miles but then nagged the rest of the run.

1 hour on the bike and had to come home because knee huring. I'm going to have to take off enough time for this stupid thing to get better.

2 hours on the bike. Three times up to the La Luz trail head. Knee troublesome but not painful.

Two miles to test the knee ... not great.

Three miles to test the knee ... slightly better.

Three miles to test the knee ... not great but it is getting better slowly. I think I will have to start riding exclusively until it starts to feel 100%. Better to take the time off now and fix it than to have a nagging injury for years.

1 hr on the bike up to La Luz. Really tried to push it so that I don't get too out of shape not running. Felt good but had to drop my pace for ~1 mile talking to another biker. Legs are feeling really strong which will be really good once I start back into a training regimine.
