AM: Bay to breakers 12K. Anyone who lives in the Bay area and runs should try this race at least once. It was kind of hard to go for a fast time because even if you had a seeded bib you still had to compete with the thousands of people who jump in after the start and clog up the road. However, it was a blast and I highly recommend it! The costumes alone are really fun to watch and the course is pretty nice.

The actual race was almost exactly as I planned. 6:30 first mile, 6:15 second, whatever happens to the top of Hayes hill (a short climb at 11%) and then sub-6 pace for the rest of the way. Also it was nice to run negative splits because there are always more people to pass. After a week of pretty high mileage for me, I felt really good about that especially because I felt AWESOME the last few miles. That tells me I need to start hitting the speed because the conditioning is finally there.

PM: Ran eight more because I had the time and felt good. Nice slow pace just making sure to clear out the lactic acid from the morning.
